Title: REGISTERED NURSES

 

Overview: DoH seeks registered nurses to serve in various Tibetan settlements

Location: Mundgod, Byllakuppe, Ladakh, Orissa, Kollegal, Head Office.

Host Institute Information: DOH seeks to make Tibetan refugee settlements viable by improving the basic health of the Tibetan refugee population in India and Nepal. The department has 7 hospitals, 4 primary health centers and 43 clinics. Active programs include:

• Drinking water and sanitation • Health education and training
• Tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS prevention and control
• Health data collection • Reproductive health care
• Substance abuse and mental health • Hepatitis B control and prevention
• Malaria prevention and control

 

Role: DoH seeks medical professionals to serve as resident nurses in the six listed settlements. The nurses will see patients in their designated camp as well as patients in neighboring settlements. They will offer preventative services and treatment, and assist in the effective operation of the clinics. In addition to providing medical care, they will help improve the practical knowledge of nurses and health professionals that they work with and strengthen the overall capacity of the medical facilities to deliver effective and timely services. The position will involve travel within the various settlements.

Requirements: Medical professionals with a nursing (B.Sc or General Nursing) or a related  degree. One or more years of experience and a minimum commitment of six months are desirable.
