Title: Architect
Overview: The Planning Commission seeks an architect to assist with projects drawings and to train staff on AutoCAD.

Host Institute Information: The Planning Commission was established as a separate section within the Kashag in 1988. It provides planning and technical support to the CTA and evaluates CTA developmental projects. Its larger goals are to make settlements viable, to strengthen Tibetan institutions, and to integrate scattered Tibetan communities. The Commission publishes the Integrated Development Plan, which serves as an investment and implementation guidelines for various CTA projects. The Commission is chaired by the Kalon Tripa and managed by a Chief Planning Officer.
ROLE: The Tibet Corps professional will train Commission staff in preparing information regarding building design, structural specifications, materials and finishes, and estimated costs and construction time for proposed CTA projects. S/he will prepare and review architectural drawings and specification documents, and train Commission staff in the use of AutoCAD software. The architect may also conduct periodic on-site observation of work during construction to monitor compliance with plans. The architect will work closely with will work closely with the Chief Planning Officer and senior staff. |

Requirements: A degree or coursework in architecture. Some practical experience working as an architect preferred. Proficiency in AutoCAD. Good communication skills
