Title: Entrepreneurship Development Associate

 

Overview: Department of Finance (DoF) seeks two entrepreneurship development associates to work with the department’s entrepreneurship program.

 

Location: Dharamsala/Field

Service Code: CTA-DoF-01-2012

Service Track: Professional/Fellow

 

Host Institute Information:  DoF is responsible for all financial and budgetary matters of the CTA. DoF administers the Green Book and Blue Book programs and mobilizes funds for various developmental and welfare activities of the CTA. Planned new programs including fostering entrepreneurship in the Tibetan settlements, and a graduate loan program for students pursuing advanced professional degrees in India.

 

Role: The associate will research economic and livelihood development opportunities in Tibetan settlements, reaching out to existing cooperatives and community-owned enterprises, and translating findings into new business ideas. The associate will also work to set up and administer DoF’s micro-enterprise revolving loan program, and explore models for a proposed graduate student loan program in India.  The associate will work to strengthen entrepreneurship in Tibetan communities across the board by setting up business education and training modules; and providing business facilitation, and advisory and problem-solving services for Tibetan enterprises and entrepreneurs. This position will require a fair amount of traveling.

Requirement: Experience in business, management or rural development desired. An MBA or related higher degree with specialization in entrepreneurship or small business development preferred. The candidate should have a strong understanding in finance and marketing, and the ability to work independently and with minimum supervision. IT skills a plus.
